Record Destruction

By Bob Edgley on 2012-05-16 09:58:35 -

Another year has passed and we are now passed Tax Filing. This means that there is one more year of old records that can be destroyed in preparation for storing the new years records. To maintain secure records the best way to destroy these documents will be to shred and then trash them. There are to many stories of people just dumping records with company secrets and customer information in the trash.

Prepare the documents correctly with an industrial style shredder.

You and your company are ultimately responsible for destroying the information not the contract shredder company. Insure that the job is done correctly with your own Industrial Duty Shredder

The federal government recently updated the IRS Section 179 which offers accelerated depreciation opportunities on equipment and software purchased in 2012. The updated 2012 Section 179 offers companies that spend less than $560,000 this year on qualified equipment to accelerate depreciation expense up to $139,000. 50% bonus depreciation is also available for new equipment purchases for those amounts not covered by Section 179. This is a great opportunity to upgrade equipment purchases.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM INDOFF, INC

This is the time of year for cleaning out and preparing to start the new year. Company records age and can be destroyed where allowed. The destruction of theses records are very important to any company. The best and safest way to perform this is to shred the documents. Your company is responsible for this not a contract service.

The industry continues to hear about offices closing or getting rid of records by throwing them away in trash bins. Many of these records contain sensitive individual and company information and by law must be destroyed properly, not just thrown out.

Indoff, Inc Industrial shredders can supply a quality shredder than can destroy the information on your old records and forms.

Aerosol recycling

By Bob Edgley on 2011-09-23 09:18:21 -

Indoff Industrial Shredders introduces the Aerosolv® Aersol can disposal system. The system is designed to remove residual content and pressure from aerosol cans prior to disposing or recycling them. The system with the use of a 55 gallon drum will puncture the can releasing the content and then filter the release gasses releasing them to the atmosphere. A 55 gallon drum can handle 4000 spent aerosol cans. The cans then can be crushed with a Indoff Can Crusher to reduce storage of empty cans until recycled. The Aerosol Disposal system complies with EPA regulations, 40CFR261.23(a)(6).

Student''s Identity

By Bob Edgley on 2011-05-26 08:22:00 -

It is the end of May and the first of June, a time to celebrate our students graduations from High School or College. The next few months as students grow into adults and have to deal with the real world many will receive unsolicited credit card applications. These applications have the applicants name and address pre-printed on the application. There is also electronic coding on the application. All of this information can easily be used by an Identity Thief to open credit accounts in the students name.

Students will also receive new picture identification cards for personal identification. These cards are also the front line for identity theft to obtain the information needed to use the credit application to steal one's identity.

These unsolicited applications must be destroyed so the information can not be reconstructed or used. DO NOT JUST THROW THEM IN THE TRASH. Use a quality shredder to shred the information.

Students that think that they have had their identity stolen should file a police report and order a three-bureau copy of their credit report.

Packaging supplies

By Bob Edgley on 2011-05-16 16:21:13 -

Every company that ships items usually uses the plastic peanuts, or bubble wrap. It is time to consider your escalating cost on these items as they are petroleum based products that do not naturally biodegrade or are recyclable. Yes you can recapture these products but does receiving actually spend the time to do this. Some product is a green product with some recyclable content or biodegradable ability. When you receive packages from your supplier it comes in a card board box. Do you throw the box out or recycle it? Does saving the boxes take up a lot of room?

Indoff Industrial Shredders has the answer!! Recycle the cardboard boxes or any other cardboard item into a natural packing material that will easily biodegrade with out filling the land fills. HSM offers a table top (Profi 400) and and a floor model (Profi 425) to shred cardboard into an accordion style packing material.
